You can download a PDF of the Maine Resale Exemption Certificate (Form ST-A-119) on this page. For other Maine sales tax exemption certificates, go here.
When a business is purchasing goods with the intention of reselling them, it is exempt from sales tax. This document certifies that the holder of this certificate is purchasing goods from a vendor to use in a retail or resale environment. Therefore, the business does not have a tax obligation on the goods until they are resold. The vendor should make a copy of this certificate and keep it on file for tax purposes.
