A sales tax exemption certificate can be used by businesses (or in some cases, individuals) who are making purchases that are exempt from the Maryland sales tax. This certificate is used to certify that all purchases made by the buyer from a specified dealer are only for the purpose of producing agricultural products for sale. The certificate is also used to confirm that the person holding it is a farmer and is in the business of producing agricultural products for sale.
